ATTENTION: There is a national rail strike planned in Belgium from 5 December in the evening until 7 December at 10pm. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rail strike is not general; there will be a basic service provision. This means that some – but not all – trains will be cancelled during the strike. If you were planning to take the train to come to Belgium or between Brussels Airport and Ghent, be aware that delays are possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for alternative ways of travel, you can take a look on GetByBus<\/a>, Omio<\/a>, Rome2Rio<\/a> or BlaBlaCar<\/a>, or taxi services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to Ghent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By plane into Brussels and then to Ghent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Brussels Airport is just under 45 minutes away from Ghent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most convenient way to reach Ghent from Brussels Airport is by train. There are regular direct train connections (journey time approx.  55 minutes), or connections with transfer in Brussels (journey time approx. 65 minutes). The train station at Brussels Airport is located directly under the departures and arrival halls, at level -1. The platform is easily reached by lift or escalator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directions to Campus Aula<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Campus Aula is where most of the pre-conference events will take place on 6 December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By public transport<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Train station Gent-Sint-Pieters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Gent-Sint-Pieters is the main train station of Ghent and is located approximately 2 km to the south of the city centre. There are regular train services to and from Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ostend and Kortrijk, alongside smaller towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The easiest way to get to the Faculty of Law is by tram: tramline 1<\/strong> has a stop at the train station and will bring you to our doorstep in 15 to 20 minutes. Get off the tram at the stop ‘Korte Meer’<\/strong>. Continue in the direction the tram is going for another 150 meters and then turn right, into ‘Voldersstraat’. About 100 meters into the street is the main entrance of the Faculty of Law and Criminology (red brick building).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
