This means that some &#8211; but not all &#8211; trains will be cancelled during the strike. There are regular direct train connections (journey time approx.&nbsp; 55 minutes), or connections with transfer in Brussels (journey time approx. 65 minutes). The train station at Brussels Airport is located directly under the departures and arrival halls, at level -1. The platform is easily reached by lift or escalator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For train schedules, see&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.belgiantrain.be\/en\">www.belgiantrain.be\/en<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other ways to get to Ghent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A complete overview of different ways to gent to Ghent can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/visit.gent.be\/en\/good-know\/practical-information\/how-reach-ghent\">Visit Gent website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:85px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"campus-aula\">Directions to Campus Aula<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Campus Aula is where most of the pre-conference events will take place on 6 December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>By public transport<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Train station Gent-Sint-Pieters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Gent-Sint-Pieters is the main train station of Ghent and is located approximately 2 km to the south of the city centre. There are regular train services to and from Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ostend and Kortrijk, alongside smaller towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to get to the Faculty of Law is by tram:<strong>&nbsp;tramline 1<\/strong>&nbsp;has a stop at the train station and will bring you to our doorstep in 15 to 20 minutes. Get off the tram at the&nbsp;<strong>stop &#8216;Korte Meer&#8217;<\/strong>. Continue in the direction the tram is going for another 150 meters and then turn right, into &#8216;Voldersstraat&#8217;. About 100 meters into the street is the main entrance of the Faculty of Law and Criminology (red brick building).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.delijn.be\/nl\/routeplanner\/resultaten.html?from=Station+Gent+Sint+Pieters+%5BB%5D&amp;startXCoordinaat=103841&amp;startYCoordinaat=191950&amp;to=Korte+Meer%2C+Gent&amp;finishXCoordinaat=104733&amp;finishYCoordinaat=193682&amp;datum=12-12-2016&amp;departureChoice=1&amp;tijd=11%3A12&amp;option-bus=on&amp;option-tram=on&amp;option-metro=on&amp;option-trein=on&amp;option-belbus=off\">See the website of&nbsp;<strong>De Lijn<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;for the schedules of these tramlines.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a taxi rank at the front of the train station (turn right upon exiting the train station).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Train station Gent-Dampoort<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Gent-Dampoort is a secondary train station of Ghent and is located approximately 1.3 km to the east of the city centre. There are regular train services to and from Antwerp, Bruges, Ostend and Kortrijk, alongside smaller towns. Trains coming from Antwerp stop in Gent-Dampoort before continuing on to Gent-Sint-Pieters and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Several bus lines<\/strong>&nbsp;go from Gent-Dampoort to the city centre. One of the more frequent is bus line 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.delijn.be\/nl\/routeplanner\/resultaten.html?from=Station+Gent+Dampoort+%5BB%5D&amp;startXCoordinaat=105959&amp;startYCoordinaat=194209&amp;to=Universiteitstraat+4%2C+Gent&amp;finishXCoordinaat=104873&amp;finishYCoordinaat=193655&amp;datum=12-12-2016&amp;departureChoice=1&amp;tijd=11%3A12&amp;option-bus=on&amp;option-tram=on&amp;option-metro=on&amp;option-trein=on&amp;option-belbus=off\">See the website of De Lijn<\/a>&nbsp;for the schedules of the busses going from &#8216;station Gent Dampoort&#8217; to &#8216;Universiteitstraat 4&#8217; (use these as starting and destination points).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>By car<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Faculty of Law and Criminology does not have parking spaces for visitors. Several public car parks are located in the vicinity, the nearest of which are &#8216;Kouter&#8217; (P5), &#8216;Centerparking Korte Meer&#8217; (P6) and &#8216;Sint-Michiels&#8217; (P7). When entering Ghent follow the directions to these car parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be advised that Ghent has an intricate system of one-way streets in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Walk from car park Kouter (P5):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Exit Brabantdam: go into Vogelmarkt, turn left into Koestraat, continue straight on across Kalandeberg and Kalandestraat and then turn left into Voldersstraat.<\/li><li>Exit Korte Meer\/Gerechtsgebouw\/Veldstraat: turn right and follow the tram tracks into Korte Meer. After approx. 150 meters turn right into Voldersstraat.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>About 100 meters into Voldersstraat is the main entrance of the Faculty of Law and Criminology (red brick building).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Walk from car park Centerparking Korte Meer (P6):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The exit of the car park is in Korte Meer. Turn left and follow the tram tracks. After approx. 100 meters turn right into Voldersstraat. About 100 meters into Voldersstraat is the main entrance of the Faculty of Law and Criminology (red brick building).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Walk from car park Sint-Michiels (P7):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the exit Onderbergen. Turn right into Onderbergen, go left into Jakobijnenstraat, continue through Hoornstraat into Voldersstraat. About 100 meters into Voldersstraat is the main entrance of the Faculty of Law and Criminology (red brick building).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"ICC-Gent\">Directions to ICC Gent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>\u00a0is centrally located, just a 10-minute walk from the Ghent St. Peter station, close to the slip roads for the E17 and the E40, and just 45 minutes from the Brussels National Airport! There are several city bus lines that stops right in front of\u00a0<strong>Gent ICC.\u00a0<\/strong>The convention center has its own underground car park with 70 spaces available during business hours and 140 spaces available after business hours. In addition to this, there are two large public car parks within a radius of 500 m around\u00a0<strong>Gent ICC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>By car<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By car from Antwerp\/Kortrijk (E17)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Take the E17 in the direction of Ghent. Drive in the direction of \u201cGent-Centrum\u201d and take the slip road for the same. Then take a right to take the \u201cAlle richtingen\u201d slip road. Follow the road to the left and take a right into the \u201cSt. Lievenslaan\u201d at the lights under the viaduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the second set of lights, at the double intersection, go left, towards \u201cOudenaarde\u201d. Drive past the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) on the left and the Museum of contemporary arts (S.M.A.K.) on the right.&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>&nbsp;International Convention Center is located on the right, approximately 50 metres further down the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By car from&nbsp;Brussels\/Oostende (E40)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Take the E17 in the direction of Ghent. In Zwijnaarde, take the E17 towards Antwerp. Drive in the direction of \u201cGent-Centrum\u201d and take the slip road for the same. Then take a right to take the \u201cAlle richtingen\u201d slip road. Follow the road to the left and take a right into the \u201cSt. Lievenslaan\u201d at the lights under the viaduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the second set of lights, at the double intersection, go left, towards \u201cOudenaarde\u201d. When you arrive at the Ghent St. Peter station, go to the right and exit via the \u201cKoningin Astridlaan\u201d. At the end of the \u201cKoningin Astridlaan\u201d, cross the \u201cKortrijksesteenweg\u201d, and walk into the Citadel Park towards&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By bus to Gent ICC<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The following public buses have a stop in the \u201cLedeganckstraat\u201d directly across from the&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>&nbsp;main entrance: routes 9, 28, 34, 35, 36, 55, 57, 58, 70, 71, 72, 76, 77, 94, 95.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.delijn.be\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Check the De Lijn website fore more info<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>By bicycle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors to&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>&nbsp;who live in the area can get to&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>&nbsp;by bicycle.&nbsp;<strong>Gent ICC<\/strong>&nbsp;installed an underground bike shed in the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Home&gt;Practical Information&gt;Transportation ATTENTION: There is a national rail strike planned in Belgium from 5 December in the evening until 7 December at 10pm.
