Civil Society & Researchers Workshop ‘The Right to Food and Food Justice’
This workshop brings together civil society organizations and academics from different UGent faculties and affiliated university colleges whose work engages with topics relevant to the Right to Food and Food Justice.
During a first encounter in a smaller group, which was facilitated by the interdisciplinary research consortia UGent Human Rights Research Network and the STADSACADEMIE – in June, we identified the need for better information sharing and connection between research and advocacy, such that our work on the Right to Food and Food Justice may reach a broader audience and create greater impact.
Thus, this meeting is organized to serve a fourfold purpose: (1) to provide an opportunity for scholars and activists working on these topics to get to know each other; (2) to map actors in the field and their capacities; (3) to explore concrete opportunities for collaboration and (4) to develop a shared understanding of how this group may continue to work together in the future.
