Lost and Found — Caring for What Is (about to Disappear)
–
HRRN is proud to support our member Professor Stef Craps and the Boekentoren in the realization of Lost and Found — Caring for What Is (about to Disappear), a project linking heritage to today’s climate and biodiversity crisis. Rooted in the Boekentoren’s mission to preserve knowledge and memory, the project reflects on what we are at risk of losing, both in nature and in culture, through a powerful triptych: a performance (Lost), an exhibition (Found), and a concert (Caring).
Lost marked the opening of the triptych, in which the Boekentoren brought together ecology and heritage care. On the Remembrance Day for Lost Species (30 November), visitors were invited to join a ritual procession from De Krook to the Boekentoren, followed by a contemplative performance by the Red Rebel Brigade. This resulted in a compelling video that we are glad to share with you. In February 2026, the second part of the triptych will be launched with the exhibition Found curated by Tine Hens, author of Archief van mogelijk verlies (EPO, 2025).
